COVID-19 Update

Aug 17, 2020

We are open and seeing patients!

At Sunset Dental, we strive to give you the best care. Even though much has changed around the world, you can still count on us to provide you and your family with exceptional dental care. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, we have to implement some new guidelines.

This is to ensure your safety and everyone around you. While these new standards may feel out of place at first. However, the more we work together, the easier they will become for all of us. Your safety has always been our top priority. These new guidelines are simply to make things even safer for you.

The great thing about implementing these new practices is that it has allowed us to open up to the public once again. We are currently seeing all patients, both existing and new!

Before you arrive for your next scheduled appointment, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new dental guidelines. This will ensure that you have a much smoother visit when you arrive for your appointment.

As always, it is our pleasure to serve you and your family. We hope you are staying safe, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Appointment Scheduling

While we have always worked hard to provide our patients with a clean and comfortable environment, the new dental regulations ensure that our office is safer than ever. Let’s explore some of the things that will be a little different when you visit.

Open Communication

As we work to phase out the use of pens and other writing equipment, you can expect to get more verbal communication from us regarding upcoming appointments. We are also making use of digital communication whenever possible.

Exclusive Scheduling

You can look forward to being scheduled so that it allows for social distancing. This is to ensure that you have a safe environment when you arrive for your appointment.

COVID-19 Screening Questions:

  • Have you experienced a fever, coughing, shortness of breath, or any other respiratory problems?
  • In the last three weeks, have you traveled to any of the following Level 3 Travel Health Notice locations: China, Europe, Iran, Ireland, South Korea, or the United Kingdom?
  • Have you been in close contact with someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or displayed any of the above symptoms?

When You Arrive

All staff and patients of Sunset Dental are to follow the same guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone.

Virtual Waiting Room

Upon arrival at Sunset Dental, we ask that you remain in your vehicle. Call or text to let us know you have arrived, and a staff member will relay further instructions.

Come Alone

In order to abide by the new dental practice regulations, you must not bring friends or family members with you to your appointments. There are exceptions, however, if you have small children in your care, or it is medically necessary.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

One of the most evident changes that you will notice is the use of PPEs among our staff. While this may seem a bit odd at first, don’t let it alarm you. It is only to ensure that you have the safest visit possible.

Hand Sanitizer

We ask that all patients and staff use hand sanitizer when entering Sunset Dental. We have also supplied plenty of sanitizer throughout our office for your convenience and safety.

Screening Questions

You can expect to be screened again when you arrive at Sunset Dental. If you answer “yes” to any of the COVID-19 screening questions, you will need to reschedule. After successfully self-quarantining for two weeks, you may return to your appointment.

Mouth Rinsing

Mouth rinse is believed to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. We ask everyone to rinse upon entering the office.

Temperature Checks

You can expect to have your temperature taken upon arrival. If you are deemed to have an elevated temperature, you will need to reschedule. You should immediately contact your family physician for further instruction.

The more we practice these new safety guidelines, the easier they will become for everyone. Let’s work together for the safety of ourselves and those around us. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
